Exact replicas of architectural acoustics can be created inside a rooms much smaller than the originals. For example, the reverb model for Cologne Cathedral can be installed into an average living room sized space. What becomes even more fascinating is that these ‘virtual’ spaces can then be changed and ‘composed’ over time, a room beginning huge and diminishing to a matchbox during the course of a concert for example, or else sound played around virtual corners. Thought you might be interested in this, as it’s been many years of hard work in the making: http://gameoflife.nl/en/

As a composer (let’s say for arguments sake that I mainly handle events-in-time), the idea of the flow of time through and around architecture most exciting!
